Commissioner Barbara Kramer – Should New Charges Be Filed?

I received this letter dated September 25, 2016 from Gerald McCole concerning the investigation of Dickinson County Commissioner Barb Kramer for allegedly taking our taxpayers dollars illegally and unlawfully in upper Michigan.

After the reply from Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Richards (Letter of July 22, 2016) advising I should go to the proper Law enforcement agency and after receiving advice on which to go to I went to the Michigan State Police at Iron Mountain, Michigan.

On Tuesday, August 2, 2016 I filed the criminal complaint with Michigan State Police Trooper Jacob Mundy under incident Number 85-1195-16. He requested at that time, I refrain from going public until he and a Det/Sgt investigated.  I agreed.

After receiving more information that Commissioner Kramer continues to illegally and unlawfully take our taxpayers dollars ( See copy of Kramer Payroll Ending Date 7-23-16 ).  I delivered this information to Trooper Mundy on August 9, 2016.  He advised he was making calls.

On Wednesday August 17, 2016 I talked to Trooper Mundy and he advised he was alone and had not done anything with a Det/Sgt who would normally be in charge of a criminal complaint of this magnitude.  He further advised he was in communication with Commissioner Henry Wender and other county departments.

On August 22, 2016 Trooper Mundy called. He advised he had been in contact with many including Prosecutor Richards and was scheduled to interview DICSA Executive Director Sandra Essendrup.  He said he had been looking at Board meeting minutes to see if there are any hidden meetings where they could have authorized these payments. He is trying to get an interview with Commissioner Wender and then will confront Commissioner Kramer.  Still no Det/Sgt.  He indicated that the investigation was headed to criminal charges with a Special Prosecutor.

Trooper Mundy called on Monday, August 29, 2016 advising he had interviewed Commissioner Wender and DICSA Director Essendrup and he called again on Saturday September 10, 2016 and advised there would be a Special Prosecutor.  Still no Det/Sgt.

I contacted Trooper Mundy for the final time on Friday, September 23, 2016.  He advised he was done and was handing everything over to Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa Richards to appoint a Special Prosecutor.  Still no Det/Sgt.

With all due respect to Trooper Mundy, this criminal case and everything connected to it deserves a full blown investigation by the Attorney General and Michigan State Police from Lansing.  The Special Prosecutor should be appointed by them and should be from downstate and Prosecutor Richards should be kept out of the picture while being investigated.

The additional charges are more dollars being taken by Commissioner Kramer ( See Payroll Ending Dates 7-23-16, 8-20-16, and 9-17-16 ).  When the Attorney General and State Police are investigating they should investigate and give to the Special Prosecutor the “Elder Abuse “ charges against Commissioner Kramer.

All concerned Dickinson County Citizens should contact the Attorney General and Michigan State Police in Lansing and request the investigation.

We would request that these actions not be put off until after the November 8, 2016 election.  This has happened in the past in Dickinson County.
